When one considers the historical nature of security applications and programs of any type, i.e., CCTV, intrusion detection and alarm systems, corporate policies and programs and countermeasures of any type, the phenomenon of the Denial Syndrome, Complacency and Failure to properly allocate a Security Budget can not be over emphasized. If we, as individuals, as a country and as a government, have not learned anything from the lessons of 911, it is the benefit of being pro-active and utilizing the concept of foreseeability.
No mater how, when or where, the denial syndrome is the one human response mechanism which can be most fatal in any security response program or effort. On too many occasions, individuals, whether VIP’s, corporate executives or the neighbor down the street will simply place their hand in the sand and resolve themselves stating to themselves “it won’t happen to me”.
Too many clients respond to their threats whether due to a: stalker and/or threat from a disgruntled employee or corporate enemy, a Workplace Violence issue, internal thefts - both Estate and Corporate, security issues due to high profile or net worth, corporate espionage, marital disputes, etc., with the denial syndrome. Too many individuals simply feel that they can “safely play the percentages” and ignore the threat or the possible repercussions. The results of this type of complacency is too may times very costly and potentially, deadly.
Then of course, there is the individual or corporate executive who inevitably will analytically determine the ROI does not exist in relation to the threat level. However, the individual almost unilaterally comes to this conclusion, completely ignoring and discounting the recommendations set forth as a result of a properly conducted Vulnerability and Threat Assessment. This response is typical and a perfect example of the “penny wise and pound foolish” attitude.
Anothern aspect of life today, which has become such a serious issue and “threat” to us as individuals, families, and as a country and nation, is “Child Abductions”. We too many times, turn on the evening news to hear of yet, another child being abducted. These child predators have no conscience and seek out victims, statistically between the ages of 10-12 but not limited to those ages, more times than not, a young girl and brutally sexually abuse and then murder them. The predator would more than likely prefer to abduct the older person, perhaps a 19 or 20 year old female. However, probably due to the greater degree of resistance and increased difficulty in being successful, the predators choose the younger victims.
It is in these instances that we sharply notice the denial syndrome, complacency and failure to properly budget security in operating in our lives. We plainly need to realize that we no longer live in a society that was as safe as when we grew up.
Today, due to many circumstances, one being the overcrowded criminal detention system and the pressures it places on the criminal justice system to plea bargain down felony crimes and another one being the past decades of budget cuts in state and municipal funding of Psychiatric Institutions has placed too many “psych” patients and “predatory criminals” out on the streets and living in our neighborhoods among us.
We, as parents and as a society in general, have to come to grips with the fact that we must be as pro-active. Simple mistakes such as allowing our children to ride their bikes alone, travel (walk) to a friend’s house or to school, unescorted can be fatal. We simply can’t allow small children to play unsupervised, in any environment, whether it be the driveway, backyard, park or school playground. Predators exist. They are out there, looking for the mistake.
Being pro-active is critical. There are other steps parents can take, such as the use of a GPS watch or cellular phone. Obviously, the wealthier can utilize the services of an armed bodyguard, protection agent to escort their child, such as in the movie “Man On Fire”.
Given the nature of today’s occurrences, whatever the countermeasure taken, we can be assured, it probably rests within the parameters of sensibility.

What is an upline in MLM and Network Marketing?
It is the “Line of folks above you” that are there to help you in your quest for MLM success. They all have the opportunity to make some money from your network marketing efforts, and you need to know who they are, and what they have accomplished.
They are your SUPPORT TEAM as they have a vested interest in your MLM Success in Network Marketing. Use them for your Success and theirs as well.
What you need to do, is send each of them an email. Contact your sponsor and get their emails and telephone numbers and send them a letter introducing yourself.
Why?
They can help you, train you, give you their insight from their mistakes, and generally help you with their experience for network marketing success.
There are some questions that I recommend asking your upline:
“What helped create the success you have in your group?”
“What is the most important thing I can do right now to get my business started and why?”
“If you were me, what conference calls do I need to be on?”
“What made you decide to join our company and why?”
“What is the way that you keep motivated?”
“What one success secret is there to this business that has helped you the most?”
“How can I help be a part of the team and contribute?”
“Can I volunteer to do things and when?”
“What drives you to succeed?”
“What is the ONE Secret to Success in Network Marketing?”
These are the type of questions that an upline will appreciate..but understand:

Why Successful Government Contractors Never “Wear Flip-Flops”
A photo of Northwestern University’s national championship women’s lacrosse team, taken during the athletes’ recent visit to the White House, shows most of the nine women in the front row wearing flip-flop sandals along with their dresses and skirts. This created a flip-flop flap.
The entire flip-flop flap is based upon presenting oneself in the appropriate manner to suit the audience. Yes, the young women were inexperienced in dressing to meet the President, but their mistake was in using their own judgment based upon acceptable dress in situations they normally experience. They failed to look at the acceptable dress from the point of having an audience with the President of the United States at the White House.
What can flip-flops (the shoes, not the political posturing) possibly have to do with government procurement contracting practices? And how do they relate to failure at procurement contracting?
Everyday, businesses large and small, well-established and brand new, try to open the door to doing business with the government, but they are in reality “wearing flip-flops.” The successful contractors have understood what is appropriate and what is not. When government procurement personnel and end-users see how the company presents itself, they make a snap decision to open or shut the door, literally and figuratively.
What are some of the specific situations that will slam the door right in your face?
Let’s take a look at common situations and how they rate in the flip-flop rating system below. While this is a light-hearted look, the message cannot be more serious. Pay attention or risk closing the door on yourself!
Rating system:
3 flip-flops:
The worst you can do. Essentially guarantees you failure at government contracting.
2 flip-flops:
Claiming ignorance is no excuse, you must react quickly to turn this around.
1 flip-flop:
Irritating but forgivable.

You think the contracting officer does not know the best solution, so you propose something outside the scope of the bid.
You send unsolicited faxes.
You send out mass emails to purchased lists.
You expect the procurement officer to give you special attention or information.
You complete the bid package after the due date.
You make demanding phone calls.
You send “free samples” or other items to your prospects exceeding the accepted dollar value.
2 flip-flops: Claiming ignorance is no excuse, you must react quickly to turn this around.
Your web site has no mention of your government contracting expertise or focus.
Your web site has flash animation on the home page.
Your email name is not business-oriented. Ex: hotfrank@something.com or shadylady@somethingelse.com.
Your email is at a non-business domain (@comcast, @netscape, @earthlink).
Your domain name bears no relation to your business name.
Your Capability Statement is not specifically geared toward the agencies specific needs.
Your Capability Statement includes outdated information.
You have an AOL email account, period.
You expect the Small or Minority Business Liaison to do your work for you.
You expect respect and trust right away, without taking the time and effort to build a relationship based on experience and dedication.
You bid low in order to get the work while hoping to make up for it on other jobs.
Now that you have the certification (8a, SDVOB, etc) you expect business to fall into your lap.
Now that you have a GSA Schedule, you expect instant contracts.
You push your “certification” before establishing the fact that you can help that buyer or agency with their mission.
1 flip-flop: Irritating but forgivable
Your web site one and only page is very, very long.
Your web site uses American flags and other symbols inappropriately.
You leave repeated phone calls, showing your irritation when you do not get an immediate call back.
You jump right into a pitch as soon as a live person answers the phone without asking if they are the person to whom you should be speaking.
You send one direct mail piece to lots of people and expect to get immediate orders.
You apply the same processes used in the corporate market to the government market.
If you see yourself committing any of these mistakes, you can mitigate the damage by making immediate changes to your current strategies. Learn from your mistakes, turn them around and plan for future contracting success.

4. With your own URL you are able to tack where you are getting visitors easier than with the generic affiliate link.
So how do you create this affiliate cloaking URL?
Here is what you do:
1. Connect to your web server using your FTP client (or other file management program)
2. Create a directory that properly describes the product you are affiliated with. In this example lets say your product is called “The Best ebook Ever” so I would create a directory called “best-ebook-ever”.
3. Create a single index.html (or index.htm) file. If you don’t have HTML Notebook will work.
4. Edit the index file so that it contains this exact code:

What is Success to You?
In my 10 years of experience in coaching my clients to maximize their success, I have created powerful tips to help you accelerate your progress. The first of these is for you to get clear on exactly what “success” means to you. I can’t tell you how many agents I have worked with who have a general idea that they want to be successful but they don’t really know where they want to be professionally in 12 months from now.
Ideal Business Visualization
Usually I help my clients get clear by giving them an “Ideal Business Visualization”. I ask them to visualize themselves doing work they love, the number of hours they would like to do it, who they want to be interacting with and the level of income they’d like to be making. This takes the mystery out of “success” and they become crystal clear on how they would know if they were successful. I ask them to write down their desired income and the number hours per week that they are willing to work. Then I ask them “how committed are you to reaching your goals”. The ones that answer 100% are the ones who have a 100% chance of achieving what they want. COMMITMENT is the determining factor. What is your commitment level?
What do you want to manifest in 12 mo.?
I also ask my clients what they would like to manifest in their personal lives in 12 months from now. They usually take a good look at the area of relationships, fun and recreation and their own sense overall health and well being. It becomes apparent then that balance between personal and professional lives is crucial for a successful long term career in real estate. For example, no one wants to become wildly successful at the expense of their marriage and family.
