The furniture you choose to put in your play room depends
mostly on your family’s definition of “play room.” If your play
room is for a toddler to have lots of running room, your
furniture will differ greatly from the play room designed to
give adults the feel of a sports bar atmosphere.
If your play room is designed with a mobile child in mind, you
probably will not need much furniture. An appropriately sized
table for the child to sit at while coloring or drawing, playing
with puzzles or doing crafts is a must along with a sturdy
chair. A good toy box that could double as a hope chest for the
child later is another good furniture item to include in the
room. Throw in a couple of chairs for the kids to wallow on and
your furniture needs are met!
A play room for older kids will differ in its furniture needs. A
table with sturdy chairs will still be vital. Older kids who
like to watch television or movies and play video games will
also need a solid entertainment center or tv stand on which to
hold the tv set. You’ll need more seating for older kids, too.
They tend to have more friends visiting and will require more
seating area.
If your play room is for adults, furnish it accordingly. In
addition to any favorite games, like pool or billiards, you will
want your play room to have quality furniture in it too. Select
a nice sofa or sectional with plenty of seating. Select coffee
and end tables that can move quickly to accommodate snack trays
or your favorite board game. If you are going to have video
games in your play room, make sure your seating is placed for
good game play.
If your play room is going to be used for hobbies, make sure
your furniture is suited for the hobby of your choice. If your
hobby is scrap booking, you will need a good, comfortable desk
and a nice chair. A hobby such as needle point would require a
comfortable chair with good back support and good lighting. If
writing is your hobby, your “play room” may take on the look of
a home office instead. Invest in good furniture that includes a
computer desk and a comfortable chair.
No matter what your family’s definition of “play room” is, you
can utilize it best and get the most enjoyment from it when you
furnish it according to its intended use. Don’t put a lavish
sofa in your play room if it will be subjected to frequent
spills and gooey drops of food. Likewise, don’t expect to be
comfortable on furniture that is way past its last legs. Know
your space, know your needs, and know your budget. When you take
those things into consideration, you will make good decisions
regarding the furniture and accessories you select for your play
room and you can concentrate on what the room was intended for -
having fun!

If you’re having problems generating a lot of sales
at your website, it may be because you’re not aware
of these 10 eye-popping powerful web site promotion
strategies that Internet promotion experts are using
to sky-rocket their sales:
1. Swap endorsement advertisements with other
web sites. Endorsement ads usually pull more sales
and traffic than regular advertisements.
2. Outsource part of your workload to save time
and money. You can spend more of your time and
money promoting your business.
3. Include a signature file on all the e-mails you send
out. Provide your business name, phone number,
e-mail and web address,etc.
4. Use pictures or graphics on your web site that
support the product you’re selling. They could give
your visitors a clearer vision of your product.
5. Create a friendly, long term relationship with all
your customers. Practice good customer service
and follow-up with them on a regular basis.
6. Create strategic alliances with other web sites.
You could exchange banner ads, sell each other’s
products as backend products, cross promote, etc.
7. Increase the perceived value of your product to
skyrocket your sales. Add on free bonuses, after-
sale services or an affiliate program.
8. Give customers a discount on their total order
to increase sales. You could give them a discount
for ordering over a set dollar or product amount.
9. Allow your visitors to reprint the content on your
web site. Just ask them in exchange to include your
resource box and a link to your site.
10. Provide a free contest or sweepstakes at your
web site. It’s a fact, people like to win things. If you
can fulfill that need, people will visit.
May these web site promotion secrets help you to make
a lot of money.

Here’s an easy-to-do and quick money making project for you:
My 18 year old son’s been making about $80-$150 a week for 1
hour worth of work. If you put more into it you could probably
do better, but he’s involved in other things- so he does this
just for extra money and pocket change:
Amazon.com now let’s you easily list used books, CD’s etc on
their web site. The results come up right when anyone searches
their site for new books and CD’s.
If you search on anything you are interested in, there’s a box
below the listing that says, “Already Own This Item?-I have one
to sell: Sell Yours Here”
It takes about 30 minutes for him to list about 25 titles a
week. The other 30 minutes are taken up packing and shipping the
books sold. The listing process on Amazon is incredibly easy.
Of the 25 titles he lists, he sells 10-15 for an average profit
of $8-$10 each. Newer books on business, computers and the
Internet sell best.
The secret is in buying books cheap enough to make a profit.
Used bookstores in my area are great for books in the $4-$5
range you can sell for $15-$20 each –if they are in good
condition. You can also get really great books at yard sales for
.50 to $2.00 that will easily sell for $10-$20 or more!
When you’re selling used books, “condition” is everything.
Pay very close attention to the spine (that it’s not bent,
cracked or separating from the book) and make sure there are no
pen or pencil marks in the book and very few ‘dog-eared pages’,
etc.
I also frequently visit used book sites online such as:
www.abebooks.com
www.biblio.com
Internet Marketing Tip:
If you have a web site that focuses on a certain topic, like
mine does, ONLY list books for sale on Amazon dealing with that
topic on Amazon. Why? Everytime you sell a used book on that
topic you have a “lead” that you can follow-up with to sell your
online services and products!
I also have tried this with good success:
I find the MOST POPULAR book related to my website - Internet
marketing - on Amazon. Then I contact the wholesaler or
publisher and buy a dozen or more titles directly from the
publisher at 40% to 50% off the cover price. When I list them as
‘used’ books on Amazon I usually only make a $1 or $2 on each
book, but I get a lead for free! Yes, every person who buys that
‘used book’ from my son gets a printed ad with a special offer
to check out my special offers! Our conversion is VERY high…
45% and up depending on how closely the book matches my site’s
focus.
By the way, Amazon re-imburses you for shipping costs at Media
Mail rates. So your selling price minus your cost is your net
profit.
TO SUM: …it’s easy…it makes money…it costs you ZERO, NADA
to list your books…Amazon only takes a cut if you sell… and
it takes 1 hour each week to make an extra $100 bucks or more!
It’s not everyone’s cup of tea… but if you love books as much
as my son does, it’s ‘found money’.

It’s part of flying, and there’s nothing you can do about it. . . perhaps.
You’re trying to get to your destination, or maybe you’re trying to get home. You look at the weather and no matter how you plot out your time, direction of flight, and other options, you’re staying put!
Blessing or curse?
I guess it depends what you’d like to make of it.
Flying home from OshKosh I met up with a couple stranded at the Mason County Airport (LDM) in Ludington,Michigan. If I were to be stranded anywhere, Ludington would be my dream! Beautiful sandy beaches on Lake Michigan have made this town one of the busiest resort towns in Michigan.
Again, blessing or curse?
This couple called over 40 hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts only to find all of them sold out! Once again they reviewed their options. Fly to Ann Arbor for a better position in the morning, sleep in the plane, make use of the comfortable lounge furniture in the terminal lobby?
The adventure continued. . .
A call from a local Bed and Breakfast revealed that there was one room they hadn’t discovered. They’d have to share a bathroom, and there was no air conditioning, but there was a “bed” and a “breakfast!”
It turns out that this couple had also spent the night in Ludington on the way over to OshKosh when weather prevented them from flying across the lake.
Of course, I haven’t heard the ending to this story yet, but If I wrote my own ending it would go something like this:
“After checking into the Bed and Breakfast, we walked down to the beach where we watched the boats and fishermen enjoy the evening as if nothing else in the world mattered. We realized we were getting hungry after the events of the day and found a cozy little seafood restaurant with a stunning view of the lake.
Before it was too late, I made a phone call to work letting them know I wouldn’t be back on Monday or maybe even Tuesday! I was told to take my time and advised not push it if weather was an issue. How good can this get?
The room was just fine, and the breeze blowing through the open window was far more comfortable than a noisy room air conditioner.
After some interesting conversation and a tasty breakfast, we headed back home and didn’t worry too much about weather.
If we had to stop again we’d have one more adventure to add to our journal and maybe another day or two off work!

The trouble of physically going to a offline gaming room should suffice to let it be unless you absolutely must go. Because all those traffic jams, the trouble, and tasks at hand are too much to justify the stress for a mere opportunity to try your hand at offline gaming room, all the same, if you’re the type who absolutely loves virtual gambling then going for gaming rooms online is likely the more obvious solution.
For this there’s no requirement for you to leave your house to try online roulette and similar as it’s easy to access from your familiar home office assuming you have a servicable computer including internet access. In spite of this, go on reading for there are a good many guidelines that you really should be advised about regarding online roulette and similar, the more so if you’re a rookie regarding this realm. So, restrain that tizzy of yours and inspect the following tips. Here’s a little framework which was written to expound how to pick out an honest online roulette and similar establishment.
The first thing that you as a cagey web player definitely should chase out is an online roulette and similar establishment of the type guaranteeing top odds. Make certain the online roulette and similar establishment is partnered with an honest certified public accountants company to appraise their wagers pay-out percentage in a documented manner. This is quite constructive to make sure the dough you plan on anteing while on your impending lark will actually justify the struggle.
Always take care to confirm the virtual gambling establishment has a genuine license, for instance by studying the government approbation on the casino site’s About page. If you’re unable to spot any government approbation on that virtual gambling establishment, do not remotely think of risking with that web site.
Another tip is to wager as a start in small amounts instead of lay out so much it will hurt straight off. First thing, check the integrity of this specific virtual gambling operator prior to chancing some serious hazard– the more so money loss! Finally, do mind this particular information regarding virtual blackjack. It can obviously only be never to forget that gambling is all about fun and pleasure and less about making a buck. Betting in an online casino is definitely no vocation, but, rather a pastime that should let you feel cheery and your entire life gratifying. Enjoy the top casino slot games and hottest online betting action.

If the creek was up, we had to park the car next to the gravel country road, then take our shoes off and walk the long stretch to the barn (wading through the water, as water covered the road up past the barn). The water was knee high … if you were the oldest kid. So, the two youngest got carried.
While that might have sounded like fun, one was barefoot, trying to keep clothes clean, holding one’s shoes up in the air, stepping lightly, not knowing what one would be stepping on next. Hopefully, no one would slip and fall into the water. And, on top of that, women still wore dresses in those days. So, mom carried the lighter little one while trying to keep her dress out of the water. It was hard work for all.
We also had to make sure to stay in a straight path, so as not to get sucked into the creek. Of course, we wouldn’t dare cross the little wooden bridge, on the path before the barn, until Dad assured us as to where the bridge was located. A miss step could mean the creek, of course.
Only, the hill to the house was much steeper; gooey red clay when soaked, with crevices throughout the mud road.
On normal rainy day visits, we slipped and slid up the hill to the house, sideways; the car then looking like it had been through a mud bath. But, when the creek was up, once past the barn, we were only half way there. Then, one watched every step, uphill, to avoid the rocks and crevices (where one could twist an ankle) to miss sinking into the mud pits.
Uncles, Dad’s brothers, came to meet us near the barn, to help get little ones and luggage up the hill.
But, by the time we all made it to the house, we were muddy and tired. We didn’t walk 5 miles through the snow. But, when the creek was up, it sure felt like it.

Don’t set yourself up for failure by projecting outcomes or final scores. Thinking about outcomes won’t help you execute the current play or shot right now.
In my work in sports psychology, I talk a lot about focusing on the process instead of end results. Good results will come from doing your job well in the process. Don’t set yourself up for failure by projecting outcomes or final scores. Thinking about outcomes won’t help you execute the current play or shot right now. A focus on final score is only a distraction that makes you nervous. In order to perform your best, stay focused on playing one throw at a time, one play at a time, or one pitch at a time. If you start to think ahead, catch yourself immediately and refocus on the next shot.
I use a simple technique to help athletes recognize they are not focused in the process and to regroup. This is called the “Three R’s”: RecognizeRegroupRefocus.
1. The first step to changing behavior is to recognize faulty thinking. Here you recognize that you are thinking ahead about future outcomes “What if I miss this shot and the team loses?”
2. The next step is to interrupt the faulting thinking. Regroup by distracting yourself “Stop thinking about the final score or if we win or lose! That won’t help you focus on the process.”
3. The last step is to refocus on the task in front of you. You can do this by asking yourself a simple question: “What do I need to focus on right now to make this play, hit a good shot, or stay in the process?”
The goal of using the three R’s is to help you refocus on the process of execution when you get sidetracked. It’s OK to lose your focus momentarily, but good athletes recognize when they are off task and get back to playing in the here and now. Next time you notice your are not focused in the process, try the three R’s.

Contrary to many of the books on how to be an effective salesperson, selling in today’s market place is just the same as yesterday’s. Goods and services are still being bought and sold. Success is still measured by how many sales you close and the profitability within each sale.
So what separates successful sales personnel from not so successful? The answer to this question lies in the ability to ask questions that help the potential buyers better understand their needs while demonstrating the value you bring by asking good questions. Remember, being a good salesperson begins by focusing on the needs of the prospect and not your needs.
Good questions don’t need to be hard. Simplicity is sometimes the better route to take. Simple questions allow the prospect better comprehension and provide opportunities for them to share even more information.
For example, the word “and” can be used as a question after a particular experience has been shared to keep your prospect talking. “And?”
Continuing to listen to the prospect will allow you to ask, “What happened next?” As the dialogue continues, you build a relationship through active listening while discovering additional needs or as some say “pain.”
Another question “Could you please tell me more about that?” allows further exploration into the current need. Again, you are demonstrating real concern about your prospect.
As the conversation continues, the prospect may share some other solutions that may or may not have worked. At this time, you may wish to ask “Specifically, how many?” Upon hearing the response, two follow-up questions that achieve great results are “And how did that work for you?” and “How did that make you feel?”
Additional questions might be “What other result or results were you expecting?” and “How can you be sure of that?” Finally, before you end your meeting, a final question of “Is there anything else?” might prove beneficial.
Good salespeople understand that no one likes to be sold, but everyone likes to buy. Your ability to ask questions that create an emotional desire to buy will help you reach that next level of sales success.

It seems home based business opportunities are a bit more common
in the US than in Europe. However the European marketplace is
quickly catching on to the phenomenon of home based business and
network marketing. The advantages of a home based business are
evident: low cost, flexible working hours and tax benefits, to
name but a few. But these advantages have pretty much been there
for many years, so why the sudden growth? Why do so many people
start their own home based business right now, and why would
network marketing be a good thing to consider for so many
others?
First of all there is worldwide economic uncertainty and many
economies are either facing a recession or are in the middle of
one. Turn open any newspaper and you can’t miss articles on
companies downsizing and laying off employees by the thousands.
Network marketing offers people the chance to create a part time
auxiliary income, right beside their day job. This kind of extra
income has proven a great help to many families across the
world. Of course many network marketers have made a full time
living out of there business. Some of them have made fortunes.
But this level of success, although available to anyone who is
willing to do the work, will not be for most people. Most
network marketers run a part time business for a small number of
hours a week earning them a couple hundred bucks a month.
Then there is the phenomenon of cocooning, where the consumer
tries to shield itself from all sorts of marketing messages.
Do-no-call lists are in place, making it harder and harder for
companies to get their messages across to the consumer. Network
marketing, which is based on moving a service or product to the
end consumer based on personal relationships, delivers a strong
answer to these challenges. More and more traditional companies
have discovered that network marketing is a very cost effective
way to reach consumers.
Of course we can’t forget about the internet. This technology
has greatly helped making the world smaller, making it easier to
find and disperse information. Network marketing companies have
pioneered the internet to inform, train and motivate their
independent distributors.
The cost of home office equipment has decreased considerably.
These days you can set up a home office for just a couple
hundred bucks. Some may argue that you don’t even need that
much. Any computer with an internet connection and a phone would
be enough for most network marketers to operate their business.
This makes it affordable for everyone to start a home based
business. Compare this to the cost of running a normal business
and it becomes clear why more and more people are being
attracted to a home based opportunity.
And then there is the growing lack of trust in the corporate
world. Not too long ago, people where quite used to having a job
for life. Or at least until they decided to quit. Nowadays many
people have come to realize that job security is a joke. Too
many people have lost their jobs more than once only to find out
that they were nothing but a number to their corporate employer.
It’s not just the fact that you have to go out to find another
job to feed your family. It’s also the fact that you’ve been
listening to your employer bloating about the importance of
their human assets when in the end in turns the employees where
just considered human asses.
Network marketing not only offers people a chance to create some
extra income, it also provides them with the opportunity to get
some of their dignity back. Helping them realize that they don’t
necessarily have to depend on their employers paycheck. The
support structures that many good network marketing companies
offer are a great help to individuals joining this type of
business. Not only will they receive the proper training on
their company’s products and services. They will also be
educated on personal development
The advantages of a home based business are evident and in the
near future we will certainly see more of it. Looking at today’s
trends in the economy it doesn’t take a genius to figure out
that the era of monolithic companies offering jobs for life has
ended. It’s time to have the courage to bet on yourself again
and home based business is a good way to do so. And for those
people that decide to take this step, taking a serious look at
network marketing is just common sense. Even in a time where
common sense isn’t that common anymore.

Every day I see in the financial
section of newspapers how to forecast what the
market will do in 6 months, 12 months, several
years. “Ten stocks that will double in the next 6
months.” Right! I have trouble trying to forecast
what it will do tomorrow. Do not trust any who
claims he knows what the future will be for the
market.
Of course, your broker will send you
gobs of slick material about various companies
that predict they will double or triple in the
next 12 months. On the New York Stock Exchange
there will be about one half of one per cent
(0.5%) of companies that will double this year.
Are you smart enough to pick those winners? I’m
not and I am considered a professional trader. And
I am sure your broker isn’t either. He just wants
to make a commission and is probably promoting a
stock his brokerage company wants to push.
Every investor wants to know the
future and will send money to some “expert” who
will send him news about a company that only (?)
he knows. And pigs can fly. One thing about the
market. It is almost impossible to keep a secret
and everyone knows everything about other
companies. As soon as some “analyst” finds a
cogent fact that can influence a stock price he
will share that “secret” with a few close friends.
Within minutes the “secret” is known by hundreds
of thousands and is immediately reflected in the
price of the stock.
If you do get sucked into one of these
money traps by some smooth-talking salesman or
newspaper verbiage I strongly suggest you
immediately plan your exit strategy. Without an
exit plan you can easily lose a large amount of
your “investment”. This is not an investment; it
is a gamble and should be treated as such. The
first thought of any professional trader is ‘if I
am wrong how much am I willing to lose’? Maybe 2%,
5%, certainly no more than 10%. Pros understand
that small losses are OK, but never take a big
loss.
From 1982 to 2000 it seemed everyone
was a financial genius. How many of those folks
kept those big winnings from 2000? Almost none.
Most lost 40% to 60% of their money. Brokers said,
“Hang in there. You are in for the long haul”.
Unfortunately he did not tell you that Modern
Portfolio Theory is based on a 40 year time line.
Yes, but understand you don’t need to
predict anything. Don’t forecast. What you can
easily learn is follow the major trend. You bought
in 1982 and you sold out in 2000. The trend can be
found in many ways with the simplest being posted
every day in Investors Business Daily newspaper
under the IBD Mutual Fund Index. When the Index
price is above the 200-day moving average you own
equities and when it is below you are in cash or
bonds. Nothing complicated,
Don’t try to forecast the market. Let the market
trend tell you.
Al Thomas’ book, “If It Doesn’t Go Up, Don’t Buy It!”
has helped thousands of people make money
and keep their profits with his simple 2-step method.
Read the first chapter at http://www.mutualfundmagic.com
and discover why he’s the man that Wall Street does
not want you to know.
